JeConte is a bluesy soulful livewire with lightening harmonica chops and soulful vocals based in Sausalito California. He travels the World performing at events, clubs and festivals with his bands based in: San Francisco Bay Area, New Orleans, Paris - France and Bamako - Mali.
In 2009 JeConte released his first album Rock n’ Roll Anthem ‘Sweet Northern California’ to critical local acclaim. This slamming Rock n’ Roll album features a multitude of Bay Area greats and is dedicated to his late Father and love Negrita Jayde both of whom he lost to cancer in 2008 & 2009.
This loss brought JeConte to furthest place he could go Timbuktu - to perform at the great ‘Festival in the Desert’ deep in the heart of the Malian desert outside Timbuktu. It was during this soul-searching journey that he started JeConte & The Mail Allstars and released ‘Mali Blues Volume I.’ Captured in Mali at Yeelen Studios during the 2012 coup d'etat, the sessions feature West African heavyweights Khaira Arby, Vieux Farka Toure & Bassekou Kouyate, Adama Drame & Boubacar Sidibe. After escaping the 2012 coup d’etat he released Mali Blues Volume I (Won multiple top 10 playlists and honors: TheMaliBlues.com) and JeConte & his band had multiple European & US tours from 2012 – 2020.
In 2015 JeConte released ‘Down by the Bayou,’ produced by, and featuring, Anders Osborne and released by Red Parlor Records. ‘Down by the Bayou’ has made multiple top 10 playlists and continues to be appreciated and requested by fans around the world.
2017 saw the release of the live studio album ‘Stop the War’ recorded by Henry Sarmiento live in Ibiza at ‘Sonic Vista Studios.’ This album features Mali great Boubacar Sidibe(Habib Koite) & Bass virtuoso Sil Matadin(Archie Shepp). This album was recorded on tour in the summer of 2013.
Fast forward to 2024 and JeConte is on the verge of releasing another 5 albums worth of music he recorded prior to and during the pandemic with Guitar / Baritone Maestro Sean Harkness. Look for some amazing new music coming later in 2024 and beyond.

‘Mali Blues - 2012’ - JeConte & The Mali Allstars - to listen go to: The Mali Blues
Mali Blues Vol I & II was captured in Bamako, Mali at Yeelen Studios during the 2012 coup d'etat. The sessions feature West African heavyweights Khaira Arby, Adama Drame, Bassekou Kouyate, Boubacar Sidibe, & Vieux Farka Toure, collaborating with Northern California/New Orleans livewire JeConte in an exciting border crossing musical exploration. The album delivers hypnotically soulful tunes that merge West African rhythms, reggae strains and Afropop grooves with seductive New Orleans blues and earthy California rock music.
The featured track 'Le Monde pour la Paix' has Vieux Farka Toure reaching deep, pleading to his ancestry to bring the people of Mali together, for the future of Mali and her children. It also features n'goni master Bassekou Kouyate creating amazing, hypnotic rhythms and the great Khaira Arby, the Tuareg Chantress of Timbuktu, calling for peace and unity for all the tribes of Mali, that they come together for the good of all, for the future of her beloved Mali.
The nucleus of Mali Blues is blues-rock singer-harmonica player JeConte, singer-songwriter-harmonica player Boubacar Sidibe and singer-songwriter-electric guitar virtuoso Adama Drame. The three met in Timbuktu, Mali at the renowned Festival in the Desert in 2010, and soon the trio began to create an original style of blues that strikes to the heart of foundational, soulful blues, a sound redolent of the genre's Motherland origins, as well as the fragrant American evolution.
As a full band, the trio leads a roaring group that includes Mamadou Kone (Bamada) on percussion and talking drum, Sekou Bah (Oumou Sangare) on bass, and Souleymane Ann (Bamada) on drums, who weave deep West Africa rhythms and seductive improvisational bass and drums into songs that hum with the hardship and experience of this unique land, dappled with echoes from across the ocean.
Down by The Bayou showcases the bluesy soulful vocals and lightening harmonica chops of renowned livewire JeConte, backed by a ferocious blues rock band featuring New Orleans legend Anders Osborne, veteran LA rocker Wally Ingram, Bayou bassman Carl Dufrene, San Francisco slide virtuoso Chris Haugen & long time JeConte writing partner and lead guitar maestro Matty Cohen.
